“Show Me a Story: Tales of Beatrix Potter.” Children’s Video Library. $24.95. This is less a TV program than it is a means of having someone read to your children. Six of Potter’s classic stories are recited with the accompaniment of illustrations that only occasionally are animated. Sounds strictly low-budget, but in fact it works wonderfully. Sydney S. Walker is a captivating narrator and the simple visual style accents, rather than competes with, Potter’s enchanting tales of mischievous rabbits, naughty kittens, scampish mice and friendly frogs who wear galoshes to go fishing.
