S. Korea Reports Trade Surplus of $359 Million

SEOUL, South Korea —
South Korea had a $359 million trade surplus in August, due largely to brisk shipments of textiles and electronics, the Trade and Industry Ministry reported today.
The trade balance for the first eight months of 1986 was $761 million, compared to a deficit of $1.149 billion in August, 1985. Textile exports reached $780 million, up 28.3%, and electronics exports were $550 million, up 52.4%.
