Nynex bought a Yellow Pages publisher.

Nynex Corp. acquired Beverly Hills-based United Publishers Corp., publisher of United Yellow Pages, which produces 4.4 million copies of directories in 45 editions covering Southern California and Portland, Ore. United will continue independently as a unit of Nynex Information Resources, a major publisher of telephone directories in the Northeast.
