The League to Save Lake Tahoe announced that its new president is Clarence Heller, 60, of Atherton, Calif., who has been visiting Lake Tahoe since 1928. Heller succeeds David Huntington of Glenbrook, Nev., as head of the 3,000-member league, which is dedicated to preserving Tahoe. “My main goal is to keep Tahoe blue,” Heller said, referring to warnings from scientists that the current algae growth trend could turn the lake green.
