Share

Baldwin Park has begun building a 12-unit apartment complex for low-income senior citizens that will be operated by its Housing Authority.

Tad Mimura, administrative assistant to the city Housing and Economic Development Department, said that the building, to be completed next April, is the first of several public housing projects the city hopes to operate in its central district.

Mimura said the units, at 14317 Morgan St., will be close to Baldwin Park’s senior citizen center and community center. Tenants must be 62 or older or be permanently disabled or handicapped and have an annual income of less than $11,600.
