Paramount : Services for Ex-Councilman
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today for former City Councilman John A. Mies, 72, who died of a heart attack Monday.
Rosary and Mass for Mies, who served 16 years on the City Council, will be at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 14815 Paramount Blvd. Burial was at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.
Mies was stricken at his home and taken to Charter Suburban Hospital in Paramount, where he died.
Mies was defeated in April in his bid to win a fifth four-year term on the five-member council.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, four sons, three daughters, five grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
