Claus von Bulow won a delay until Oct. 20 for his first testimony on the events that put his wealthy wife, Martha (Sunny) von Bulow, in a coma. Von Bulow made a pretrial appearance in federal court in New York where he is defending against a $56-million civil suit brought by Mrs. Von Bulow’s two children by a previous marriage. He told U.S. District Judge John Walker that if forced to give a deposition scheduled Sept. 15, he would have to do it without a lawyer.
