The Red Tape in Insurance Needs Cutting

Share

My wife and I are employed by two different major aerospace firms in the South Bay area. Since the birth of our son in October, 1985, not a single claim has been paid by our health insurers.

Both insurers continue to ask for additional bits of information from us, the doctors, the hospital, the pharmacy, the other employer, the other employer’s insurance, etc. When the requested information is provided (after many letters, phone calls, etc.), one or both of the insurance carriers will request additional information.

At one point, one of the insurance carriers refused coverage for our son’s hospital birth charges because I had not listed him as a dependent prior to the date the charges were incurred--birth!
