The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation selected architect Hugh A. Stubbins Jr. to design the $30-million Reagan Presidential Library on the Stanford University campus. Stubbins, best known for such projects as the Citicorp Center in New York, Veteran’s Stadium in Philadelphia and two major library buildings at Harvard University, said his design for the library “is sympathetic to the region within which it is built.” According to Stubbins’ plan, visitors will enter the tile-roofed complex through a square courtyard, and the main library, at the rear of the yard, will be flanked by two smaller wings. Funds for construction are being raised from private sources in a $100-million campaign headed by W. Glenn Campbell, director of the Hoover Institution, and Atty. Gen. Edwin Meese III.
