‘Rose Bird Under Attack’
Barbara Allen Babcock’s article about Rose Bird should be mandatory reading for the majority of Orange County voters--particularly a dozen or so women I overheard in a beauty parlor discussing Bird but not Bird’s credentials.
These women have mind-sets, which would, given the power, produce precisely the kind of jurisprudence cited by Babcock in certain Southern states where, coincidentally, lynching mobs flourished not too long ago.
Too many Southern Californians easily distinguish between conservative and liberal but cannot comprehend the difference between scrupulous application of the law and self-serving, less honest adjudication.
As for my own comprehension, I have found another beauty parlor.
