Douglas A. Burton has been named president of BCI General Contractors, a new Irvine-based division of Bedford Properties Inc. He served as president of Equidon Contractors and prior to that, served as vice president of Emkay Development Co, a subsidiary of Morrison Knudsen Corp.

Jayne Hancock, formerly with Tarbell Realtors, Orange County, has been named director of public relations and marketing for Buckeye Construction Co. and Buckeye Realty & Management Corp., Beverly Hills. She will also oversee advertising and promotional activities for all Buckeye corporations.

Denval B. Hamby has joined the 71-year-old Los Angeles contracting firm of Stolte Inc., as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Hamby formerly served as executive vice president of Ira H. Hardin Co., Atlanta, and during his 16-year tenure held positions of senior project manager and senior vice president.

Andrew P. Watson of the Cambridge office of Syska & Hennessy will replace G. Bradley Karr, who has resigned. He assumes the position of senior vice president and managing director of the Los Angeles office. Watson worked in the firm’s local office from 1978 to 1981.

F. William Whyte, most recently with Grubb & Ellis’ Beverly Hills/Westside office, has been appointed vice president and branch manager of Cushman & Wakefield’s Los Angeles North office.

Lawrence Rydeen has been promoted to vice president of Golden Triangle Management Inc., a division of Harry L. Summers Inc., San Diego. Randy Jackson has been promoted to assistant vice president of commercial development.

W. Richard Chatham has been promoted to assistant vice president in Union Bank’s Real Estate Loan Center in the South Orange County regional office in Irvine.

Carol Forman has joined Watt Homes Inc., Santa Monica, a home building subsidiary of Watt Industries Inc., as director of purchasing.

Ralph Clock, immediate past chairman of the Industrial League of Orange County, has been appointed to the Airport Land Use Commission by the County Board of Supervisors. He is the chief executive officer of Clock Construction Co., Irvine.

Bruce H. Powell, formerly with Randles Associates, has joined Search Builders, Los Angeles, as vice president and director of property management.

Joel T. Grushkin has been appointed senior vice president of corporate development at Design for Living, San Diego.

Colleen Maison, sales and marketing director for Oxnard-based Strathmore Homes, has been named by the city of Oxnard to its General Plan Advisory Committee.
