BMW Purchases Warehouse Site in Ontario Park

BMW of North America has purchased 22 acres in the California Commerce Center in Ontario for $5 million, and plans to build a center for warehousing and distribution of motorcycles and automotive parts. The company presently is located in Carson.

The business park’s status as a foreign trade zone will allow BMW to store and process products imported from Germany and other foreign countries.

The land is located in the second phase of the Commerce Center, where 80% of a total of 281 acres already have been committed since opening of sales in January. In the project’s first phase, more than 2.3 million square feet of buildings have been built and all of its 282 acres have been sold.
