Cyber Systems Wins Job From Boeing Subsidiary

Cyber Systems Inc. of Anaheim said it has been awarded a $1-million contract by Boeing Military Airplane Co. in Wichita, Kan., for a load control and data acquisition system to be used in fatigue test procedures on Boeing’s Navy A-6 Re-wing program.

A spokesman for Cyber Systems--a manufacturer of computer-based data acquisition systems--said the tests are designed to determine how long the particular wing specimens will last in flight during the airplane’s service lifetime. He said the system will apply loads to the wings that simulate the various forces the wings will endure, such as air turbulence. The system will allow Boeing to conduct and monitor the tests and perform data analyses.

The company said the system is scheduled for delivery sometime in the fall.
