Tropical Storm Goes Into Caribbean Sea
Tropical Storm Danielle made a slight turn northward Monday into the Caribbean Sea, bringing its 50-m.p.h. winds over warm water, which will provide energy for its development, forecasters said.
“Anytime you have a storm in the Caribbean at the peak of the hurricane season, we encourage anybody who’s got any interest to pay close attention,” forecaster Mark Zimmer said.
Monday evening, the season’s fourth named storm was centered about 320 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, the National Hurricane Center in Coral Gables reported.
