Fumes From Derailment Spur Extended Evacuation

COLLINS, Miss. —
A portion of U.S. 49 remained closed and residents of an area within two miles of the tracks were barred from returning home Monday, after a train derailed near here Sunday and leaked toxic chlorine gas from two ruptured tank cars, officials said. There were no injuries, said John Harper, of the state Bureau of Pollution Control.
