St. Louis Cardinals running back Ottis Anderson Monday retracted his trade demand after a 30-minute meeting with Coach Gene Stallings.

“I met with Coach Stallings and everything is resolved,” Anderson said. “As far as a trade goes, I can forget it. I don’t think the Cardinals are interested in trading me and I’m not really interested in going anywhere.”

Anderson requested a trade after the Cardinals dropped a 16-10 decision Sunday to the Rams. Anderson said at the time he felt unappreciated for the way he ran the football. He was benched by Stallings in favor of Stump Mitchell.

“It was a bad time for me,” he said. “I was like a horse with blinders on--I couldn’t see anything but straight ahead. The only thing I thought about was that I wanted out of here . . . I guess it was pride, the tough loss, a lot of little things that initiated the whole lot. I’m not to proud to sit back and say, ‘I was irrational.’ When you’re wrong, you’re wrong. I think we’re on the same page now.”
