A lighter and more flexible vapor recovery hose for gasoline service stations was approved by the California Air Resources Board, making it easier for self-serve customers. A board spokesman said the Maxxim Coaxial Hose, developed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., combines into a single, slimmer hose the one feeding the gasoline into the vehicle and the one carrying vapors back to the underground tank. The hose, he said, is twice as durable, more flexible and up to 40% lighter than those in use since vapor controls were instituted 10 years ago.
