Five U.N. peacekeepers from Nepal were wounded in crossfire between Israeli-backed militiamen and Shia Muslim guerrillas in southern Lebanon, a U.N. official said. Two members of Israel’s surrogate militia, the South Lebanon Army, which attempts to enforce security near the border, were reported killed and four were wounded. The militia repelled an attempt by pro-Iranian Islamic Resistance guerrillas to capture a hilltop post near Yater, a village just north of the Israeli border.
