GANGING UP ON THE PLAYWRIGHT’S BABY

Having had at least a dozen scripts ruined by committees of egomaniacal directors, producers, actors and other so-called writers, I will never be convinced that a committee can create great or even good work.
Shakespeare, Hammerstein, Tolstoy and Hemingway (at least, while alive) didn’t allow committees to tamper with their writing.
In fact, I defy you to name a single really great play authored by a committee.
