ELMHURST, Ill. —
Augustana, NCAA Division III champion the past three years, had its 37-game victory streak--the longest active winning string in collegiate football--broken Saturday when Elmhurst College tied the Vikings, 0-0.
In regular-season games, Augustana had won 49 games in a row, dating back to 1980. In its last 64 games, including playoffs, Augustana has lost only twice.
Elmhurst limited Augustana to 157 yards in total offense and held standout running back Brad Price to only 51 yards rushing.
