Holmes a Court reached a truce with Broken Hill.
As part of the plan, the giant multinational resource company said Robert Holmes a Court will be given a seat on its board. His main rival, Elders IXL Chairman John Elliott, who played a key role in thwarting Holmes a Court’s bold takeover bid, will also become a member of the board. Broken Hill Proprietary Chairman Sir James Balderstone said in a statement that his company and Holmes a Court would drop all legal actions connected with the takeover battle. Holmes a Court has been battling to take over the Australian company for about a year.
