Alan D. Prince was named to the newly created post of president of Ask Mr. Foster Associates, the licensing division of the Van Nuys-based chain of travel agencies. Prince previously headed the group, which works with travel agencies affiliated with the chain, as general manager.

Prince also was named an executive vice president for diversifiedbusiness with the Minneapolis-based Carlson Travel Group, the parent of Ask Mr. Foster. Last year Ask Mr. Foster, with 400 offices in 43 states, had gross sales of $1.2 billion.
