Tickets Touch Off Vandalism

A Hollywood man--fed up with the parking tickets he has been getting lately--was arrested this morning after he smashed the windshields of four Santa Monica parking-enforcement scooters with a brick, police said.

Marcus Vaughter 25, was arrested on suspicion of malicious mischief at 1:45 a.m. after he marched into the police station to confess, saying he was upset by the tickets he had been given in Santa Monica and Los Angeles. “I guess he wanted to make a statement,” Santa Monica Police Lt. Tom Mapes said.
