Chile’s military government lifted an eight-day ban on the British news agency Reuters but continued to prohibit dispatches from Chile by the Italian agency ANSA. Reuters was halted last week because its dispatches reflected “an unacceptable tone,” a government spokesman said. The Italian agency ANSA was banned for dispatching “false and tendentious information that offended the armed forces,” a government spokesman said.
