The Nation : Guerrilla Training Barred
Gov. James R. Thompson signed a measure prohibiting non-government guerrilla and paramilitary training in Illinois, which, sponsors of the legislation said, was aimed at the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation, neo-Nazis and other radical groups that in the past have conducted training in the state. The new law makes it a felony, punishable by one to three years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000, to teach explosives and firearm techniques for the purpose of causing civil disorder.
