Culver City Panel Acquires Parcel

The Culver City Redevelopment Agency Monday acquired a 30-room resident hotel and a cocktail lounge that the agency wants to condemn to make way for new development.

The agency also approved an outside appraisal of the Adams Hotel, 3896 Main St., and Big Ed’s Bar, 9381 Washington Blvd. The agency staff did not release the amount of the appraisal.

The acquisition and appraisal were done at the request of the owner of the buildings, Finn Bjerkness, according to an agency staff report.

The buildings, part of a parcel known as Block C, are the last properties not owned by the agency on the one-square-block parcel in the city’s downtown section.
