Lebanese security sources said that Israeli jets and helicopter gunships raided several villages in southern Lebanon, setting buildings ablaze in strafing attacks. The sources said three jets and three helicopters hit the villages as pro-Israeli militiamen exchanged artillery fire with Muslim fighters east of the port of Sidon. But in Tel Aviv, a military spokesman denied that Israeli aircraft were involved in any activity over Lebanon.
