University of Akron football coach Gerry Faust learned Thursday he suffered a broken leg Monday when he was knocked down during kickoff drills by 6-3, 235-pound linebacker Darryl Robinson.

Faust injured his leg at the Zips practice field when Robinson ran into him only five minutes after the coach had delivered the junior starting linebacker a stern lecture about failing to attend classes, MacDonald said.
