USC Library to Be Renovated
The Ahmanson Foundation has given USC $500,000 to help renovate and expand its architecture and fine arts library. Ground breaking for the project will be 4 p.m. Tuesday but construction will not begin until spring.
The expansion is the first in a series of projects to improve the School of Architecture facilities. It is to be named the Helen Topping Library for the first lady of the university from 1958 to 1970, the presidential term of her husband, Norman Topping, now USC chancellor emeritus.
