Tax Overhaul Legislation

I would like to make a suggestion to the representatives and senators of the United States: As the tax reform bill comes before you, ladies and gentlemen, take a pledge! Promise that, once passed, you will leave it alone.

Not forever perhaps, but at least until the 28% rate has been with us for a few years. This will give everyone, business and the private sector, a chance to plan ahead with confidence that the rules will not change.

Imagine the time saved if taxation were not to be an issue for five years. Imagine, mirabile dictu , business, the people of this country, all free to go about their respective lives with never another thought given to tax, except perhaps, “I pay my share, as does everyone.”

Come to think of it, isn’t that what tax reform is all about?
