The World : Israelis Blame Abu Nidal

Senior Israeli military sources said that a radical Palestinian faction led by Abu Nidal carried out the hijacking of a Pan American plane in Karachi, Pakistan, and a massacre in a Turkish synagogue, both earlier this month. Among the evidence they cited as implicating Abu Nidal was his reported claims of responsibility for previous synagogue attacks in Europe and the fact that his group had in the past tried to stage more than one attack at a time. The Israeli sources said they did not have complete details on either attack and drew on press reports to support their assertion.
