WASHINGTON —
Democrat Terry Williams, the only black to serve in the Utah Senate, said Tuesday he will wage a write-in campaign for the U.S. Senate after narrowly losing the Democratic primary.
Williams, 36, will oppose Republican Sen. Jake Garn, who is heavily favored to win a third term. Also running is Democrat Craig Oliver, who defeated Williams in the August primary by a 275-vote margin.
