Council OKs $928,946 for Cyclist Hit by Truck
The Los Angeles City Council voted Tuesday to pay $928,946 to a motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a 1980 collision with a city truck in the San Fernando Valley.
William Meaton was injured when the truck pulled into the street and struck his motorcycle. A Superior Court jury last November concluded that the truck driver was negligent, according to a city attorney’s report recommending approval of the payment.
