College Roundup : Chapman Women Lose in Soccer

Toni Krumme’s goal with 15 minutes remaining gave UC San Diego a 2-1 nonconference women’s soccer victory at Chapman.

UCSD took the lead on a goal by Teresa Schwarr at 10:04 of the second half. But Chapman came back to tie the score on Debbie Stuart’s goal. It was Stuart’s fourth goal of the season. Chapman goalie Teri Schaub had two saves.

UCSD is 6-1, Chapman is 2-2-1.

In men’s soccer:

The Chapman College men’s soccer team dropped three places to sixth in the NCAA Division II poll. Chapman (4-2-1) lost to UC San Diego, 1-0, on Friday and defeated UC Irvine, 2-1, Sunday.

Davis and Elkins of West Virginia remains first with seven first-place votes.

Chapman faces Temple (ranked 12th in Division I) in Philadelphia this afternoon.
