Friday: The 1986 Hollywood Clean Water Caravan will stop in Newport Beach at the Hotel Meridien, 4500 MacArthur Blvd. Among those scheduled to appear at the benefit for Yes on Prop. 65 are actors Rosanna Arquette, Chevy Chase, Whoopi Goldberg and Ally Sheedy. A private sponsor’s reception will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those who donate $365. A second reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for those who donate $65. Sunday: Fullerton City Council member Molly McClanahan is holding a buffet reception from 3 to 6 p.m. at Tony’s Melody Inn to discuss her campaign for reelection. Tuesday: California Atty. Gen. John Van De Kamp will be the beneficiary of a fund-raiser sponsored by the Democratic Associates and Volunteers in Politics from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Copa de Oro Restaurant, 633 Anton Blvd., Costa Mesa. Tickets are $10 for members and $25 for non-members, or $100 for admission and membership in both organizations. Attendance is limited and reservations are requested.
