The World : Dutch May Quit UNESCO
Dutch Foreign Minister Hans van den Broek warned that his country might withdraw from the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization unless that organization carries out promised reforms. Van den Broek, in an address to the 41st U.N. General Assembly, said the Netherlands is seriously concerned “about the lack of progress UNESCO displays in implementing the reforms decided upon” at a meeting in Bulgaria last fall. The United States and Britain have already pulled out of UNESCO, saying it was badly managed and biased against the West.
