A peace activist who quit his job at TRW Inc. when he was asked to work on a military project sued the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals board, saying his status as a conscientious objector entitles him to $2,000 in jobless benefits. Gary Flomenhoft, who had worked for a year on the Space Shuttle project before it was canceled, said that after turning down the military project, he was rejected for non-military jobs in the company--in one case by a supervisor who told him, “You’re the conscientious objector.
