The Region - News from Sept. 25, 1986
A 34-year-old Fountain Valley man was crushed to death in a rural area of southern Orange County when his earthmover rolled over him, the Sheriff’s Department reported. Lt. Larry Richey said the victim was Minh Huu Nguyen, a self-employed trucker. “He was working in a rural area where they’re constructing the Wagon Wheel Regional Park near Coto de Caza,” Richey said. “He had a double-trailer earthermover rig, and he’d parked it on an incline, left it and walked down to sign off a time-keeping chart. The rig began moving; it sideswiped two vehicles and then ran over him.” Richey said Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
