San Diego College Soccer : USD Beats UC Irvine in Soccer, 2-0

The University of San Diego men’s soccer team defeated UC Irvine at Crawford Field in Irvine Wednesday, 2-0. Torero Mike Brille scored with 5:34 gone in the first half, and Eric Deutsch scored with less than eight minutes left. Goalie Scott Huckleberry recorded the shutout.

USD is 7-1 and the Anteaters are 2-5.

United States International University 4, UC San Diego 0--Andy Walker had two goals, Gary Botha two assists, and Jon Sissons had an assist and a goal for USIU. Walker scored first with 12:16 gone in the first half. Gabriel Martinez scored the Gulls’ fourth goal with less then four minutes to play. USIU goalie Gary Francis registered his second consecutive shutout.

USIU is 2-1 and UCSD is 6-2.

Azusa-Pacific 2, Point Loma-Nazarene 1--Eric Johnson and Greg Beilfuss put Azusa-Pacific (5-3, 1-0) ahead early, and it hung on for the victory as Point Loma scored on a Greg Rizio penalty kick.
