Scott Molina of Boulder, Colo., won the Bud Light U.S. Triathlon Series national crown for the fourth consecutive year at Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Molina finished the three-event competition in 1 hour 49 minutes 24 seconds to edge Dave Scott of Davis, Calif., who was timed in 1:50:11. Scott Tinley of Encinitas, Calif., was third in 1:51.

Kirsten Hanssen of Denver won the women’s title, finishing in 2:02:26 to edge Beth Mitchell of Haslett, Mich., who was timed in 2:06:05. Jill Hernandez of Chico, Calif., was third in 2:07:31.

The triathlon consisted of a 1.5-kilometer swim, followed by a 40-kilometer bike race and a 10-kilometer run.
