Anti-Marriage Fraud Bill Passes

WASHINGTON —
The House today passed a bill to discourage fraudulent marriages between aliens and Americans performed in order to make foreigners eligible for U.S. resident status and benefits.
The bill, passed by voice vote and sent to the Senate, would increase criminal penalties for fraudulent marriages and deny visas to aliens who have not met their intended U.S. spouses.
