Woodland Hills Area Tops County in Building Permits

Share

The value of building permits issued for the 91367 zip code area of Woodland Hills surpassed those of any other area in Los Angeles County in the second quarter, according to a study by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. Taking into account permits valued at $500,000 or more, the study found $44.4 million in building permits issued for that Woodland Hills zip code area during the three-month period. A Westwood zip code, 90024, was second, with $33.1 million.

The 91367 area is bounded by Ventura and Victory boulevards, Corbin Avenue, and the hills between Woodland Hills and Hidden Hills. A chamber spokesman said the area was first chiefly because of $38.9 million in permits issued for 817 condominiums being built there by CoastFed Properties.

Building permit values aren’t exact reflections of construction expenses. They exclude land costs and are based on a standard formula. Permits are issued by either the county or one of the cities within it.
