Torrance : Diagnostic Center to Open

A $6-million Harbor-UCLA Diagnostic Imaging Center, which will give researchers the opportunity to study brain lesions, muscle problems, kidney complications and other medical problems, will be opened at 21828 S. Normandie Ave. on the grounds of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Opening ceremonies will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.

A joint venture of Los Angeles County and private medical technology companies, the center is among the first in the nation to offer a complete range of imaging equipment, which takes pictures without X-rays, in a teaching and research setting, according to medical center spokesmen.
