Long Beach : Waste Plant Meeting
On Oct. 23, a City Council committee will discuss a developer’s plans to build a hazardous-waste plant just across the city border in Wilmington.
The $10-million plant proposed by BKK Corp. of Torrance has drawn objections from Long Beach residents. The proposed site of the plant is in an industrial area north of Anaheim Street. BKK officials have been invited to appear at the 7 p.m. meeting scheduled before the council’s Public Safety Committee, which is chaired by Councilman Ray Grabinski.
Public testimony will also be taken at the meeting at City Hall, 333 W. Ocean Blvd.
