Imprisoned federal judge Harry E. Claiborne has agreed to put his $78,700 annual salary into a trust fund until the Senate renders an impeachment trial verdict on whether to remove him from office, Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole said. Dole (R-Kan.) also said that Senate leaders, under pressure to finish legislative business and adjourn by the end of next week, may delay the impeachment trial of the chief U.S. district judge for Nevada until early next year. The trial is set to start Monday.
