A hand-crafted, custom-made Daimler, the only limousine of its kind in Cuba, was handed over Thursday to Mayor Fernandez Mell of Havana by British Ambassador Andrew Palmer as a “gesture of good will” at a ceremony in Havana’s auto museum.

The last three British ambassadors in Havana have used the 1980 white Daimler, which was replaced last year by a Jaguar. The museum put the Daimler on show alongside a 1958 U.S.-made Buick once used by the late Marxist ideologue and guerrilla fighter, Ernesto (Che) Guevara.
