Ex-Charger Thrift Signs With Rams

Linebacker Cliff Thrift, who played for the Chargers from 1979-84, signed Thursday to play for the Los Angeles Rams.

Thrift, 30, was released by the Chargers in July of 1985. The 6-foot 1-inch, 237-pound Thrift played last season with the Chicago Bears.
