The NLRB accused the UFW of illegal activities.
The National Labor Relations Board, in what is believed to be the first unfair labor practices complaint that it has ever issued against the United Farm Workers union, alleged that the UFW made unlawful threats against workers at the Egg City ranch in Ventura County and also engaged in unlawful boycott activities. The agency is expected to seek a restraining order next week. Workers at the ranch have been on strike for four months. The union replied that it is not covered by federal labor laws.
