A $25-million, 149-room Holiday Inn, keyed to the Santa Ynez Valley’s Spanish roots and equestrian traditions, will open this week at 1430 Mission Drive in Solvang. The owner/developer is Fred L. Fredericks.
The California Spanish architecture is by Millard Archuleta Associates. Planning and space design for the hotel and its Winners Circle Bar, Jockey Club dining room and Starting Gate coffee shop are by Concepts 4 Inc., Santa Monica. The project’s cost includes an adjoining entertainment complex that features a 400-seat restaurant, a three-screen movie theater and an ice-cream parlor.
