Ship Sanitation

My compliments on the well-written and informative article on ship sanitation Sept. 21 by Shirley Slater and Harry Basch. I am among those in favor of continuing the full inspection program, whether through the health service or privately hired inspectors.
This is a constant worry for travel agents--sending their clients on a cruise, some for the first time. One of the selling points I used was showing my client the blue summary sheet from the public health service, and not sell a cruise unless the ship passed inspection. Now, however, it seems we are back to square one.
Keeping tabs on the cruise lines through articles such as that will at least let the public know what’s going on.
